Triphosis a white crystalline alkaline powder which is characterised by a high pH. Different types of Trisodium Phosphates (TSP) contain various concentrations.
The existing types in the market are:
- Anhydrous TSP – with no water in the molecule.
- Crystalline TSP – contains water in the molecule.
There are various types of crystalline TSP characterised by the different quantity of water in the molecule, eg 0.5 mol., 6 mol., 8mol., 12 mol.
Sterokem Triphos is crystalline TSP with 6 mol. water.
Material is less powdered and therefore creates less dust.
- Good Solubility
- Less hygroscopic (anhydrous material absorbs water more easily)
- Product is granular
- No tendency to cake
- Stable in storage (atleast 12 months)
- High alkalinity and high pH
- Good buffering porperties
- Good softening properties
- High P2O5 content (24-26%)
